摘要
A mercury manometer for measurement of pressure to 120 kPa with an accuracy of 0. 2 Pa is described. The position of the mercury meniscus is recorded by the interference of light from an incandescent lamp. Both arms of the interferometer are equalized by movement of a corner reflector. The same corner reflector is used in a second interferometer with an He-Ne laser. The measure of the height of the mercury column is the movement of this reflector, which is determined by counting the number of interference bands that pass the photodetector in the interferometer with the He-Ne laser. The temperature of the mercury is regulated within plus or minus 6 mK per day for a vertical gradient of less than equivalent to 2 mK/m and is determined with an error of 2 mK. The manometer is suspended from a device with a gas-filled cushion.
