Radial electron density distribution in plasma flow in a coaxial Hall accelerator

The results of measurements of the electron density in the plasma flow in a coaxial Hall accelerator are presented. The values of the electron density determined from measurements of the Stark broadening of a hydrogen line are presented. The electron density was also determined from the intensity of the radiation in the continuous spectrum with wavelengths near 550 nm. The agreement between the electron density distribution measured by the two methods indicates that the method for determining the density from the continuous spectrum can be recommended since such measurements are less laborious than those for the method of hydrogen line broadening.
