Diaphragm cylinders are precise linear actuators that replace positioning devices such as hydraulic logic circuits, servomotors, and mechanical linkages in applications as diverse as web tensioners, valve actuators, and throttle controls. In such applications, the cylinders provide sensitive positioning control, low-friction operation, and repeatable displacement. However, they are limited by low-pressure capability, relatively slow cycle rate, and short stroke length (compared to conventional air cylinders).
