The structural concept is of the caisson-tower type. The caisson unit consists of 24 circular cylindrical cells with spherical domes, comprising a square frame of cells along the external periphery. These outer, cylindrical cells will be used for oil storage corresponding to 1 million bbls. The inner part of the caisson is formed by a system of straight cross walls, which together with a sub-system of rib beams and columns, carry the roof slab. The inner part of the caisson is intended for ballast only and carries no external water pressure during deep immersion or after installation. The steel deck is carried by four concrete towers situated at the inner corners of the outer cell frame. The bases of the towers are designed as thick, cylindrical cells, rigidly connected along the full height to the outer cells. The platform is especially designed for completion in shallow waters.
