An examination is made of the conditions in which the centrifugal friction clutch functions. This is followed by a determination of the ratio M//2/M//1 of the torque transmitted by the clutch under the rigorous and mild operating conditions, respectively. The frictional forces operating on a member of the block is calculated. It is shown that all conditions being equal, the clutch having two blocks transmits under rigorous conditions the maximum torque which is 2. 7 times as much as the torque transmitted by the clutch under mild conditions.
