Technical and economic preconditions for utilizing nuclear power plants (NPP) as sources of centralized heat supply are considered. The experience of the existing NPP in this respect is analyzed. Some difficulties, such as remoteness of NPP from consumers, are pointed out. Certain advantages of utilizing heat from NPP for agricultural purposes rather than space heating in cities are pointed out. Possibilities of waste heat utilization are indicated.
