Paper deals with some typical problems experienced during many years of operation of the plants for glycol drying of sour gases. Function and design criteria of the additional equipment required are described, and operating problems due to corrosive materials and glycol degradation are discussed. Transport of the byproduced polysulfides to the reclaiming plant and disposal of acid effluent incur large expenditures. Procedures followed and proposed are discussed.
