EVALUATION OF THE BEARING CAPACITY OF PRECAST PILES BY STATIC PENETRATIONS.

The paper involves a comparison between the capacity of precast piles directly established by loading tests and the strength of the penetrated layers obtained by static penetration tests (the point resistance and the lateral skin friction of the penetrometer). It results that the static penetration tests allow to establish with a satisfactory accuracy the values of the critical load of the precast piles, especially when the penetration depth of the point of the pile in the sound layer is considered.
