TRANSMITTER FOR THE BROADCASTING OF CHARACTERS AND FIGURES.

A still picture generator has been developed to transmit characters and figures information which is intermittently inserted to the vertical-blanking interval of a video signal and 1 H per field is used to carry the signal. In Europe, character information is coded and sent. The pattern generator is used to display characters. But in Japan, more than 2000 kinds of characters are used, including Chinese characters. So a picture is broken up into 50,400 dots left brace 240(horizontal) multiplied by 210(vertical) right brace and sent them all. The still picture generator uses a floppy disk for the main memory. The generator, which is easily movable, has easily changeable programs and has mascapacity, is outlined. Illustrations and diagrams include English captions.
