It is proved that the dependence of intensity of cavitation-induced erosion on the characteristic linear dimension and flow velocity is not described by a simpler power law, as was assumed previously, but is also controlled by the relationship between the mechanical characteristics of the material and intensity of bubble impact. In modeling cavitation erosion it is necessary to satisfy a number of additional similitude conditions. These are: identical form of cavitation under model and full-scale conditions; identical type of cavity closure and identical spectrum of cavitation nuclei.
