Cycle time is important to the development of new products, as well as to the production and marketing of existing products. Up to the present, reduction of cycle time is a critical factor of competition. Among organizations, cycle time is being reduced through various business subcycles such as book/bill cycle, design/develop cycle, spec/source cycle, or, purchase/produce cycle.
