USER REQUIREMENTS OF SOLAR-TERRESTRIAL PREDICTIONS FOR SPACECRAFT APPLICATIONS.

The types of users of solar-terrestrial prediction for spacecraft applications are characterized. The scope of the report is limited to those areas which are influenced by solar-terrestrial coupling effects and are internal to the earth's magnetosphere. Sections of the report deal with the requirements of users, the current status of models and predictive techniques, and future areas for research in each of these categories. Recommendations on requirements for predictions on energetic particles, solar flare protons, plasma, and neutral atmosphere are presented.
