A report on the working conditions when using a magnetically impelled electric arc to weld non-magnetic steels (X 5 CrNi 18 10, X 6 CrNiTi 18 10) with a standard production welding machine. A description is given of the shielding gas device, the conditions for the magnetic field and feeding the welding current. The results of welding experiments using different shielding gases are discussed. It is possible to put the knowledge gained into practice. For figures and references see German text section (pp. 72/75).
