摘要：

The use and development of scanners in sawmill industry is described. Line scanners are used for better information on linear infeed edgers due to high scan rates. The scanners supply most of the information to the host computers on log and cant application. The sensors with multipoint heads deliver measurements at a rate of 4000 per second. Single point sensors are used for high speed handling and quality control.
