The present paper reports on an investigation of the P//g decrease of a tunable laser with F//2** plus centers during its operation. Nonstationary induced absorption by photoconversion of color centers is the main reason for the decrease in the power of generation in LiF crystals under high-frequency pumping. Thermooptical inhomogeneities are induced in the initial moment after switching on the pumping but their contribution is much smaller and amounts to at most 15-20% of the total value of F.
