An example of a case study is given in which, by utilizing an operations research (OR) method, reliable decision making information associated with a complex problem can be obtained. The case study is concerned with the current and pertinent question - how should a multi-national concern distribute production over its branches in different countjries so that, under given production-technological and economic conditions (capacity limitations, sales prices and maximum sales quotas, transport costs, customs regulations), a market made up of several countries can be suppliejd and the profit thereby obtained be a maximum.
