In the reported experiments, the rate of hydrogen produced from Anabaena cylindrica under an inert atmosphere and light irradiation has been examined. An approximate estimate of the area required to produce hydrogen in adequate quantities from Anabaena cylindrica to provide enough energy for the needs of a city of a population of 1 million people has been calculated.
