摘要
A characteristic feature of the new transmission systems is their ability to automate the cross-connect function. A logical network structure is therefore crucial if the network is to be managed using one or more operation systems. Formalizing this structure has resulted in the standardization of a functional architecture for transport networks founded on two independent concepts: layering and partitioning.
