摘要
As computer technology advances, computer disk drives must store more and more data, therefore, the specifications for components of disk drives and other computer peripherals are becoming ever more exacting. Electroless nickel (EN) plating is already playing a part in meeting these specifications, but some problems remain to be solved to expand its use in the future. The four most important features of electroless nickel that make it an excellent finish for disk drives and other computer peripherals are 1) its non-magnetic characteristics; 2) its adhesion to almost all substrate materials; 3) its hardness; and 4) its uniform coverage of parts of intricate geometry.
