摘要
A two-dimensional quasistationary particle-in-cell (PIC) code was developed in order to support the experimental investigation of pulsed power ion diodes by numerical simulation. The PIC code serves to simulate the orbits of charged particles in a self-consistent manner. This means that not only the voltages and currents applied externally are taken into account, but also the electric and magnetic eigenfields produced by the particle movement. The conditions taken into account in the PIC code are the following: (1) technical geometries; (2) space charge limited emission at the electrodes; (3) several types of particles; (4) relativistic electrons; and (5) high currents and voltages. After a discussion of the structure and the algorithms of the PIC code, the verification of the code as well as an example of a computation in a technical diode was presented.
