摘要
The infra-red CD//2 bending vibration in solution-grown isotopically labeled crystals of polyethylene has been analyzed by using Fourier self-deconvolution. Several component peaks are revealed by this technique and the lineshapes are in good agreement with those calculated from a recent model of the author. This lends further support to the model, which involves 75% adjacent re-entry and superfolded sheets of crystal stems diluted by 50% with other molecules. Calculations based on a recent lattice model with 19% adjacent re-entry give much smaller doublet splittings than those observed.
