Converting LPG caverns to natural-gas storage permits fast response to market

In response to a very competitive natural gas storage market resulting from industry deregulation in Canada, TransGas Ltd (Regina, Saskatchewan) converted its existing LPG-storage salt caverns to natural gas storage. To supply its customers, TransGas previously has developed solution-mined salt storage caverns from start to finish. Two Regina North case histories are presented in this article to illustrate TransGas' experiences with conversion of LPG salt caverns to gas storage.
