摘要
The need to save energy is leading to the utilization of heat that would otherwise be wasted in energy-intensive production processes, particularly in the cement industry. A description is given of an energy-saving system installed at a West German cement plant. This uses hinged absorbers that enclose a rotary kiln. The radiant heat of the kiln is converted into useful heat subsequently used for general heating purposes and for service water generation. The system operates cost-effectively and also offers the option of inplant power generation.
