The AMRAC (automatic meter reading and control) system is a data acquisition and control system, utilizing specialized remote terminal units, two-way distribution line carrier communications, and a central reading and control center to accomplish load management and to provide communications for distribution automation. Load management functions of the system include both direct control of user loads and metering for peak load pricing; seasonal rates, time-of-day rates; energy measures and demand measures; all on time schedules which may be varied at will.
