There has recently been increased interest in four-layer p-n-p-n structures due to their popularity in large integrated circuits with injection. The applicability of two-transistor models for IC with injection is not evident even in the simplest case of a single-collector vertical n-p-n transistor. This note discusses the conditions of applicability of multitransistor models for IC with injection.
