摘要
The goal of question-answering systems is to obtain information about the characteristics of an answering unit at an interrogation unit. From the interrogation unit questions will be transmitted to which the answering unit responds by transmitting the respective answers. Due to errors by which the questions and the answers are corrupted during transmission only a part of the information which the interrogation unit receives to a question is relevant, depending on the transmission system utilized. In order to select suitable transmission systems a selection criterion is necessary. The authors suggest to use the information theoretical efficiency W as a general and simply usable criterion. The purpose of the paper is to derive expressions for the determination of W from the system parameters.
