Cuts and delays in high-profile procurement projects are included in a package of almost £6 billion in efficient savings revealed by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). The biggest savings over the next three years are to come from the logistics budget, with about £2.4 billion being cut from the spending plans. The intention is to save money by cutting cost of developing, testing, and logistic support. The logistics budget is targeted for major savings, mainly through the concentration of aircraft deep maintenance at a smaller number of sites.
