Induction heaters are often the only method that can transfer the amount of heat required by modern high-speed fiber production lines. This article explains how they are designed and made. Induction heaters operate at temperatures 50-100 degree C higher than those of radiant, bonded and hot-air-circulating heaters. An induction heater does not require the manifolding and sealing associated with hot gas heating and has no moving parts to fail. Heat storage capacity of, and construction materials for these heaters are also discussed.
