Rough estimation of the probability of interruption of normal work and of the length of breakdown idling of 750 kV AC power transmission lines is considered on the basis of statistical data concerning the electric equipment in use on other nominal voltages. National economic losses due to breakdowns on a long-distance compensated power transmission line are determined.
