The first part of this review deals with the materials used and their properties, i. e. , with Cu-Al and other copper alloys and with lead alloys. The second part deals with metallurgy, melting, casting, processing of partially solidified alloys (rheocast or thixocast), liquid extrusion, finishing (hot isostatic pressing), and testing.
