Forty- nine test sections, all with the same nominal cross- section, were loaded in small increments to failure under various conditions of bending, torsion and shear. For each load increment, corresponding angles of twist, support reactions and reinforcing steel strain readings were taken. Based on the experimental results a method was established to predict the ultimate load capacity of T- beams containing symmetrically placed longitudinal steel with stirrups and subjected to combined bending, torsion and shear.
