State of thermal stress is analyzed in an isotropic semi-circular disc which contains an internal source of heat situated anywhere on its axis. Thermal radiation from the curved surface which is free from stresses has been taken into consideration and it is further assumed that the straight boundary is insulated and that it is in contact with a smooth rigid surface. The temperature throughout has been assumed to be in a steady state.
