摘要
Photoinduced electron spin resonance (ESR) and conductivity of a conducting polymer, polythiophene film have been studied. The ESR spin density and linewidth in the slightly doped film decrease upon illumination of the infrared light, suggesting that polarons with spins interact with photoexcited electrons from the polaronic state and/or valence band. The photocurrent spectrum of an undoped film indicates the generation of photocarriers by the interband excitation. In doped films, the photoresponse is observed at an infrared region too, originating from the excitation of gap states. Variations of absorption spectra by reducing temperature in doped films are also studied.
