An experimental study of the droplet sizes of water atomized by a jet produced by an air nozzle is presented. To determine the particle-size distribution function, author used the optical method of small light-scattering angles, which does not distort the flow. This method is based on the relationship between the characteristics of light scattered by the particles and the dimensions of the latter. Author obtained the distribution of droplet sizes for the different zones of the jet at different distances from the nozzle exit.
