Volume of coated paper is expected to grow about 4. 5% annually which is better than the expectations for printing and writing paper (3 to 4%) and total paper and paperboard (3%). The above-average growth can be attributed to both socio-economic changes and increased cost-effectiveness. Future technical developments are likely to include changes in the rawstock with a move to much higher filler levels.
