The COMPAX die blank is a solid core of polycrystalline man-made diamond, surrounded by a ring of tungsten carbide. It gives the user the hardness of the diamond combined with the durability of tungsten carbide. Applications for this product include the following metal groupings: Ferrous: High and low carbon steels, stainless steel wire, stainless steel tubing, iron based alloys, brass-plated steel; Non-Ferrous: Copper and copper alloys, nickel chrome alloys, aluminum and aluminum alloys, tinned copper; and High Temperature: Tungsten, molybdenum. Dies containing COMPAX diamond blanks have demonstrated significant performance advantages over conventional die materials.
