Regular copolymer anhydrides (CPA) have been obtained by the copolymerization of maleic anhydride and C6-C16 α-olefines. It has been shown that the chemical modification of CPA's by a-amino acids makes it possible to obtain polyamide acids with side hydrocarbon radicals, whose salts are typical polysoaps. The colloidal and chemical properties of the most interesting of them have been studied.
