Results are presented of theoretical and experimental investigations of heat transfer from plasma flux to the walls of the MHD generator channel. Relations describing coefficients of heat transfer from plasma to electrode and insulating walls were formulated, taking into account convection and radiation heat transfer, as well as the influence of the magnetic field and Joule effect on heat transfer intensity in the channel. On the basis of the formulated relations, calculations of heat transfer convection and radiation coefficients, as well as of heat fluxes transferred from plasma to the walls of the channel, were made. The theoretical analysis was verified by experimental investigations, performed on an experimental MHD generator of thermal power 4 MW which allowed also to determine the influence of magnetohydrodynamic phenomena on heat transfer intensity in the MHD generator channel.
