ALLOWING FOR DIRECT AND INDIRECT REDUCTION IN THE BLAST FURNACE BY A COMBINED METHOD FOR FURNACE CHARGING CALCULATIONS.

The value of an index R//i, determined by a proposed procedure from information on the composition and speed of descent of charge-materials, the combined blast parameters, and temperature gradients in the stock column in individual parts of the lower zone of the furnace, can be used for calculating the optimum relations between the charge-materials (coke, ore and flux). The simplified calculation algorithm has been tried at the West Siberian Works and has in general given satisfactory results.
