摘要：
The purpose of this paper is to provide an introductory tutorial on Software Engineering with examples of applications from process control. After defining terms and presenting a summary of the needs which inspired its evolution, general methodologies and techniques for both Software Engineering and its management will be presented. Two examples from process controls will be used to illustrate how these general principles may be applied to specific problems. One example of a managerial philosophy will be presented based on the corporate background of the application examples.
