摘要：

Creep tests of pressurized tubes of four steels indicate that strains follow the von Mises effective stress rule. For rupture, three materials follow von Mises, but the 'brittle' material tends to follow the maximum tensile stress criterion. For prediction of the rupture life of tubes, the mean diameter formula appears satisfactory.
