The dynamic behavior of laminated composite plates with a delamination is investigated for elucidating physical and mechanical phenomena. The dynamic response analysis has been performed using the FEM based on the first order shear deformation theory. A delaminated constrain model of the laminated plate and a virtual interface element are developed to avoid the overlap and penetration between the upper and lower sublaminates at delamination region. A modified generalized orthotropic damping matrix is obtained considering multi-mode parameters. Some typical examples are given. Good agreement has been found in comparing the numerical results with that of others and experiments.
