The personal computer is a powerful presence both in the office and on the factory floor. Offering low cost, extensive software support, and new high performance CPUs, the PC Bus-based computer has become a valuable tool for the control engineer, and an important processing engine in control systems. This article shows how PC users gain real-time control with Intel's iRMX operating system running on the AT Bus.
