Results of intercomparison of network methods for precipitation measurement in winter

Basic characteristics of devices under comparison (country-producer, device receiver surface area, height over the ground surface) as well as the device operation conditions are presented. Accuracy characteristic evaluations of corrected and uncorrected measurement results by residuemeters of various types are given. The evaluations are performed on the basis of multiyear rainfall studies at the experimental base of the State Hydrological Institute in Valdaj for monthly residue sums in winter.
