Value of the Coefficient of Hydraulic Resistance of Dry Valve-and-Sieve Plates.

The coefficient of hydraulic resistance of the valve-and-sieve plate ″A″ with perforated tubes rigidly fixed to a screen plate, with disk valves fixed within the tubes, and of the valve-and-sieve plate ″B″ , representing a combination of a screen plate and ″Glitch″ disk valves, is investigated. The tests were carried out with a 150 mm diam. column. The effect of the screen plate perforation, of the free section of the perforated tubes and the lift height of disk valves on the value of the coefficient of hydraulic resistance is investigated. Theoretical and empirical equations are obtained for the calculation of the coefficient of hydraulic resistance of dry valve-and-sieve plates.
