Developments and the state of the art in the Dunkirk and Mardyck plants of Usinor during the period leading from 4,000,000 t to 7- 8,000,000 t yearly production are described in the 21 papers of this issue. The present paper deals with design, location, and color scheme of the general service buildings of the Mardyck Works. They are located near offices and laboratories and comprise an information center, a medical and social service building, a restaurant, and a guard house.
