Problems connected with the intensity of gamma radiation that has passed through investigated samples of rock, depending on their physico-mechanical (elastic) characteristics, are considered. Results of over 500 experimental investigations have shown that there is a close connection between the elastic characteristics of rocks and the intensity of gamma radiation that has passed through them. This simplifies the method of evaluation and determination of the elastic parameters of rocks.
