The completion of Grand Cascade by Lloyd Drilling Ltd using diamond drilling technique is discussed. Using a combination of reinforced concrete and Darney sandstone, the Grand Cascade comprises a series of 30 weirs with 7,260 gallons/min of water tumbling down it at peak flow. The holes were drilled at a 45° angle along a curved wall and the configuration of each set of three holes was aligned in exact symmetry, so that the water is thrown at a precise angle for the jets to meet in the middle.
