CONVEYORS TO HANDLE HOT BULK MATERIALS.

Modern industries are developing an increasing need for conveyors to handle large volumes of hot bulk materials. The need for this special type of conveying equipment extends into the areas of calcining, sintering, pelletizing, and beneficiation. Factors governing design and selection of conveyor equipment become critical as tonnages and temperatures increase. Frequently, the hot materials to be conveyed include high percentages of abrasive fines and/or dust. The conveyor design engineer must be concerned about protection of machinery bearing surfaces, as well as materials of construction and aspects of heat transfer. Various designs are described.
