The effect of titanium, chromium, tungsten, cobalt, nickel, silicon, manganese, niobium, and vanadium on nitrogen diffusion in specially purified liquid iron was studied. Nitrogen diffusion coefficient was investigated by the volumetric method. It is shown that alloying elements dissolved in liquid iron have a different effect on the rate of nitrogen diffusion in it. Titanium chromium, and tungsten increase the coefficient of nitrogen diffusion; nickel and cobalt have a weak effect, and such elements as vanadium, niobium, manganese and silicon lower the mobility of nitrogen in liquid iron.
